Who are Lessons For?

Lessons are for students of all ages, and are customized for each student's goals, learning styles, and needs.

Do you offer lessons for students with special needs?

Yes, as well as for students of all ages with traumatic brain injuries and mobility problems in their hands. As a PhD-level psychologist, I have developed a baseline lesson program for these students and tailored a specific lesson plan for each student. I do ask that I perform an assessment first to ensure the student will benefit from music lessons. I also remain available to the student's therapist should they have any questions or suggestions.

How long are lessons?

Standard lessons are 30 -60 minutes (30-minute minimum). For students with special needs, TBIs, or mobility challenges, I recommend a 30-minute target to prevent overloading/over-stimulation, then, depending on how the student is doing that day, we can go up to the full 60 minutes.

What payment methods do you take?

Cash, Cash App, or Venmo only.

Are lessons available online?

Yes, and due to rising gasoline prices, I am now offering lessons via Zoom. I recommend meeting in person once a month (when enrolled in monthly lessons) to cover material or techniques best done in person.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No. You can buy monthly lessons (four) or individual lessons. There is no contract to sign, no complicated cancellations or credit card billings. You buy your lessons and keep them until you use them.

What kind of recitals do students partake in?

A student's individual recital, should they choose to take part in one, is to go on stage at one of my shows and play three songs on their own or with me accompanying them. This allows them to feel the environment of a real stage in front of an audience that is not composed solely of family members. Their name also goes on the show promo posters.

Group recitals take place in an open-mic setting, with each student playing up to 3 songs.
