No two students are alike. Different personalities, learning styles, and other variables are just some of the factors that determine an individual's uniqueness in learning. What works for one student will likely not work for another student. That is, if you're serious about becoming a guitar player.

There are numerous lessons available in the world, both online and in-person, taught by just as many instructors. There are also so-called methods, many of them promising you near-expert playing ability in a matter of days. What are these claims based on exactly? How were these conclusions made, and using what scientific method?

Do you hear the same crickets chirping that I do?

Then there are the big-box music stores, such as Guitar Center. The type of instructor you get is a crapshoot. Instructors may be marginally qualified at best.

Based on my research and verifiable evidence, some of those instructors' qualifications are related to their friendship with the lesson lead of a particular store. And the lessons themselves have little, if any, structure, let alone value.

So what makes me, the Rocker Doc, different?

I'm a professional musician and a professional psychologist, which enables me to integrate both disciplines into my teaching. I tailor lessons to each student's personality and learning style, ensuring that no two lessons are alike. I do not have generic or blanket lessons. Each student gets customized lessons and materials at no additional cost. If you get stuck, I'll identify the cause and suggest the best way to resolve the issue.

I don't bully you into giving me your credit card number, either. You pay as you go or buy lessons in a pack. And, unlike at places like Guitar Center, when you buy a lesson, you keep that lesson until you use it. I don't force you into a recurring monthly subscription. Need a break? No problem.

I know what I'm doing. I know the songs. I know how to play and teach those songs. In turn, I'll teach you the songs; you'll know them too.

In time, you will have an impressive repertoire. Recitals? When you're ready, your recital will take place on stage at one of my shows in front of a real audience, not just family members, but a genuine audience. Your stage will not be some rag-tag setup—it will be set up like a real stage because it IS a real stage.
