Otherwise, lessons are conducted at our Schillinger Road location once our studio is complete.

And, unlike the big box "centers," you won't be tethered to a billing subscription/contract. Your lessons will be billed on a month-by-month basis, and if you have to miss a lesson, you won't lose it; we'll make it up at your convenience.

Music Education Philosophy

I don't teach out of a book. I customize each student's lessons based on what THEY WANT TO LEARN. Just want to learn and play songs? No problem. Want to learn how to solo? Even better. I have developed unique, fun, and successful teaching methods that get you playing right away and allow you to retain what you learn. Sure, there are some basics involved that you'll need to learn, like scales (BORING). But I make learning them fun and meaningful, which will pay off for you.

About Me

Many of you already know me from "the other place." For those who don't, I'm Dr. Marionna Mendiola, a.k.a. the Rocker Doc.

I've been a professional musician for over 25 years, having picked up the guitar at age 10 thanks to a fellow named John Denver. I've performed nationally and internationally (United States, Canada, and Mexico) at fairs, music festivals, and other venues. I've hosted countless open mic nights, released a regional acoustic blues album, and have written soundtracks for a few cable television shows.

I hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Theoretical Psychology from Capella University, and I completed postdoctoral studies at Cambridge University on neuroscientific aspects of learning.

I've been teaching music for 15 years and have learned to adapt to the myriad personalities that students can possess. This puts me at a huge advantage in making sure you are successful in your musical journey, no matter where you want it to take you.

One of my key strengths is my musical versatility. While I can adapt to any music style, I specialize in classic rock, American and Mexican Folk, and traditional Mississippi Delta Blues. My main folk influence was John Denver, and my main rock influences were Steve Howe of Yes and Tommy Shaw of Styx.

I've partnered with Cozy Events and Entertainment out of McCleary, Washington. Details on my upcoming shows will be posted as I complete my social media pages.
